EAST to WEST

Johnny Knapp throws down a SOLO prone paddle challenge from Westhampton Beach to Bellport on 09/03/2022. Beginning at 12:00 PM from Westhampton, Knapp prone paddled west across Moriches Bay, had a visit from the coast guard west of Moriches Inlet, continued through Narrow Bay, paddled under Smiths Point Bridge and finished with a push across Bellport Bay to complete the line in Bellport at 4:56 PM. The paddle covered a distance of 14.6 Nautical Miles, which is approximately 16.8 miles point to point. This paddle was done in an unsupported style in which Knapp carried his own gear, navigated on his own, and had no support boat in the water alongside him. PURE.

This challenge marks the second prone paddle challenge in Dawgpatch Bandits history, and the fifth challenge line of the 2022 Challenge Line Season submitted for this year’s CHALLENGE LINE OF THE YEAR event.
