Gardiners Island West Side SWIM

Friday October 6th, 2023 Spencer Schneider completes unfinished business by swimming the entire length of Gardiners Island’s West Side. On the cool October morning Schneider started his swim on the shore of Gardiners Island at the inlet of Great Pond located on the island’s south end. Entering the water at 8:00 AM Schneider swam across Cherry Harbor, around Cherry Hill Pt. (North West) and then across Bostwick Bay to finish at Bostwick Pt. at the North end of the island. The swim totaled 6.75 miles and was completed in just 3 hours 20 minutes.

To date Schneider has swam the eastern length of the Gardiners Island, Cedar Pt. to Gardiners Island, Gardiners Island to Plumb Island, and now the entire West Side of Gardiners Island.
