Noyac Bay Swim
August 28th, 2020
The Noyac Bay swim was the last leg of a six part mission carried out over the last three years. On August 28th, 2020 the Dawgpatch Bandits swam the length of Noyac Bay from Jessup’s Neck to North Haven Point covering 2.5 miles. Eight members of the Bandits Crew answered the call and took on the crossing including, Spencer Schneider, Matteo Stewart, Skyler Losech, Charles Partellow, Nicholas McMahon, Nicholas Stevens, Joey Mensch and Drew Harvey. Accompanied by support boats Captained by Dave and Dawn Harvey along with crew, the swim was surgically completed by all swimmers in just 1.5 hours time. This swim marks the missing link to a greater series of swims that took place from the mouth of the twin forks on Long Island out to Gardiner’s Island beginning in the summer of 2018. The series of swims completed covered every major bay on the East End and over 30 miles of open water swimming. To date the Dawgpatch Bandits have completed swims across: Great Peconic Bay, Little Peconic Bay, Noyac Bay, Shelter Island Sound, Sag Harbor Bay, Northwest Harbor, and Gardiner’s Bay (Listed from West to East).
