Isla Chora Open Ocean Swim

Amphibious Bandit Kyle Sturmann went fully rogue completing a 3.6 mile round trip open ocean swim from Playa Samara to Isla Chora, an island off of Costa Rica. Conditions down in the those waters include Bull Sharks, Crocodiles, Sting Rays and heavy swell. On this particular day, Kyle Sturmann swam in a Red Tide with passing showers. Being spotted by a local Costa Rican in a kayak, Sturmann completed this swim completely unassisted both to and from the island with a total swim time of 2 hours. Out of the water, Sturmann is reported as saying “good swim, even the locals were shook.”
