Our Director of Mental Performance: Mike Mata

Mike is a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC®); the official title for sport psychology practitioners recognized by the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP).

“As a child I was fortunate to be involved in most of the classic team sports, football (alongside Drew), baseball, hockey, soccer, etc. In my early teens, our family shifted the focus toward exploring the competitive world of motocross. As this gained momentum, my family and I began to travel and race around the New England area. As the story goes, I ended up facing a couple of back-to-back, severe injuries, and in persevering, I made the decision to channel my efforts into growth, appreciation, and giving back. My perspective and intrinsic drive have been shaped by this ongoing, intentional effort, naturally bringing me into the field of performance psychology and into this role. The Dawgpatch is an organization I’m honored to work with and I look forward to adding value in the form of access to various psychological resources and mental tools. Feel free to reach out; I welcome new connections and a space where we can dive deeper into how this work can be applied to your life. - Mike Mata
