Orient Point Swim

South to North

July 18, 2019

Spencer Schneider and Jeremy Grosvenor completed a previously uncharted swim from Cedar Point to Orient Point. The swim covered just over 9 miles of open water and was completed in only 4 hours. When you are talking about open water swimming on the East End of Long Island, you can not leave these two gentlemen out of the conversation. Point to point, no loops, no wetsuits. Like any proper marathon distance – open water swim a boat is there to spot and support the swimmers with an occasional soggy date and some water, but make no mistake when it comes to the swimming it is an unassisted mission. Swimmers can not touch the boat, and can not get out of the water until they reach land at their final destination. This one is in the books, and only the first strike of a 3 part operation in the making.
