#MEAT4MIKE

May 24th

The first annual #MEAT4MIKE took place on May 24, 2019. In commemoration of Mike Semkus, a former Sagg Main Lifeguard Lieutenant, who passed away due to respiratory failure caused by overdosing on prescription pain medication. #MEAT4MIKE is an event held each year since, calling anyone and everyone to get active on May 24th to Raise Awareness Against Opioid Abuse. Get out and run, swim, bike, paddle, surf, play volleyball, get a set of pushups, pull ups, sit ups, dips, etc. and post to social media with the hashtag #MEAT4MIKE to Raise Awareness.
